Mughal Water Gardens are a spectacular water feature which has raised the profile of Lister Park significantly, both locally and nationally. The Water Gardens are the first Mughal Water Garden to be built in the North of England and have been designed to reflect the rich cultural diversity of Bradford’s history.
The Gardens formed a central element in Bradford’s recent Capital of Culture bid and helped to win Lister Park its prestigious Green Flag award.
In 2006, Lister Park fought off strong competition from parks across the country and took the top prize of ‘Best Park In Britain 2006’. The park was judged on criteria which included community involvement, access, maintenance and environment and Townscape is proud of its contribution in helping make this success possible.
